While there are others that doubtless provide similar experiences it seems to us that the personal attention that each client receives from any and all your guides truly sets Alpine Adventure Trails Tours on a higher plane. We offer trips of 12 nights or 6 nights.  The 12 night trips are 6 nights in one village doing day hikes, returning to our hotel each night, then moving to a second village for another 6 nights.  Our 6 night trips are either the first or second village of a 12 night trip.

What is covered in trip cost?  Trip cost includes: guides, hotels, breakfast, dinner, all travel with the group, luggage transfers, and being met by a guide at the airport on the day the trip begins or the day before.  We will also assist with other travel plans you may have before or after your time with us.  Our 34 years of experience organizing and leading hiking trips in the Alps will enhance your enjoyment of some of the best alpine scenery in the world.  All tours except Tour 7 offer two hikes each day, a moderate hike and a more strenuous hike.  Please see endnotes for Tour 7 for trip hiking details. 

Also included are Swiss Passes for guests on all Switzerland Trips.  Zillertal and Stubaital Travel cards are provided for our Austria Trip (Tour 11.)  Swiss Passes and Travel Cards cover travel on trains, buses, cable cars, cog trains, gondolas, funiculars and boats and are valid for the duration of your trip.  Some specialty cog trains, funiculars, cable cars and buses are not covered; however, the pass or travel card provides discounts of 25% to 50%.  Your personal Swiss Pass or Austria Travel Card is a wonderful resource for free-days (days when we do not hike.)      

What is not covered in trip cost?  Airfare.  Your lunch each day.  When hiking we will eat at mountain huts or restaurants where you can order to suit your taste.  A light lunch of soup or salad is about $10 and a more generous lunch of pasta or rösti (Swiss hash brown potatoes) is around $20.  A picnic option is also available.

* In route moving to our second village, we will take a boat cruise on Lake Thun, a glacier fed lake on the west side of Interlaken. To the east
of Interlaken lies Lake Brienz.  The Aar River flows through these lakes to Bern and then continues to join the Rhine River.

**On last day of trip, departure day, arrival at the Zürich Airport before 10:30 AM is possible.

***The single supplement price for Tour 7 is for a single room in hotels but does not cover our two nights in Berg Hotels, rustic mountain hotels
only reached by hiking.  We will stay one night at the Berghaus Obersteinberg above Lauterbrunen Valley and one night at the Hotel du Trift in
mountains above Zermatt.  These lodgings do not have single rooms so an additional single supplement of $140 (total for both Berg Hotels) is
applied for a single room in these inns.  Before the trip we will work with guests to help facilitate a match.  When registering for Tour 7 you may
request a single room for all nights for the additional single supplement of $140 or go with the standard supplement for a single room in village hotels only. 

Tour 7 does not have a 6 night option.
