Tour Information Details

Transfer & Ground Transportation
Each Swiss tour member receives a Swiss Rail Pass that is good for unlimited travel on trains, boats, and postal buses, and for discounts on most cable cars, chairlifts, and mountain cog railways. Your Swiss Pass is a great asset for your free day exploration. Austria tour members receive a local travel card that is good for unlimited travel on trains, buses and local cable cars in the Ziller Valley and Stubai Valley.

Baggage Handling
ONE (1) piece of luggage per person will be transported from the clearance of customs at the Zurich, Geneva or Munich Airport to the last day departure from the Zurich or Munich Airport. A second suitcase may be transported at a charge of $50, however a second suitcase is strongly discouraged.

Meals
We start each day with a bountiful breakfast (price included in your package). Items included in breakfast buffet vary by inn. Typical breakfast items are fresh breads, croissants, an assortment of excellent cheeses, fruit, meats, cereals, granola, coffee and hot chocolate with refills, juices and special pastries. In addition, we will have dinner each evening at the inn. Dinner is also included in tour price. All of our family-run inns take great pride in the preparation and presentation of fabulous meals that provide a variety of local and European cuisine. Guests who request a vegetarian dining experience will be pleasantly surprised by the creativity of our chefs.

Lunches are taken at small mountain inns and tearooms. Our guests are usually astonished by the variety and quality of the food that may be enjoyed in these remote retreats. Travis, Shannon and Jim all recommend the rhubarb pie with warm vanilla sauce served at Chez Vrony deep in the mountains above Zermatt. Lunch is not included in the tour cost. Each hiker should budget an expense of approximately $15 U.S. per lunch, however, this amount will vary depending on individual tastes. A picnic option is also possible.

Tour Escort-Guide
You will be met as you clear Customs at the Meeting Point sign at the Zurich, Geneva or Munich Airport by your tour escort. Your tour escort will be with the group until check-in at the Zurich or Munich Airport for the light home.

Price Does Not Include
Air tickets; expenses of your passport; lunches; midmorning or afternoon coffee breaks; cost of items of a personal nature such as laundry; excess baggage charges; mineral water and beverages not included with meals such as after dinner tea or coffee, wines or liquors; items not on the regular menu; travel independent from group or on free-days; entertainment not included in the itinerary; health, accident or baggage insurance; airport taxes; or optional gratuities to hotel staff and assistant guide.

Tour Insurance Special insurance is available and encouraged covering such items as baggage, emergency evacuation, health, accident, and trip cancellation. A descriptive brochure will be sent to each tour member after booking.
